Gateway Labs offers chemistry screenings, immunization status testing, STD testing, and general health screenings. For an overview of common tests, check out the tabs below. Call (317) 866-7302 to schedule any of the following tests.
Conteo sanguíneo completo (CBC)
A CBC gives an overall view of the general health of a person and can detect disorders in the blood such as anemia, leukemia, and infection.
Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP)
The BMP is a blood test that typically includes tests for electrolytes, kidney function, blood sugar levels, and acid-base balance. The BMP helps doctors assess organ function and detect potential issues such as diabetes, kidney problems, or electrolyte imbalances.
Panel Metabólico Integral (CMP)
The CMP is routinely ordered as part of a blood work-up for a medical exam or yearly physical. Abnormal test results or groups of test results are usually followed up with other specific tests to confirm or rule out a suspected diagnosis.
Análisis de orina
This test includes a microscopic exam of: color, turbidity, specific gravity, pH, protein screen, glucose screen, ketones, bilirubin, blood, nitrite, and leukocyte esterase. It also includes a microscopic exam of: white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells (RBC), casts, crystals, epithelial cells, bacteria, and yeast.
Panel de lípidos
Lipid panels aid in the evaluation of potential risk factors for atherosclerotic heart disease (ASHD) and are used to evaluate hyperlipidemia as an index to coronary artery disease (CAD), to indicate the presence of dyslipoproteinemia, and to monitor lipoprotein-modifying drugs.
Vitamina D
This test can reveal problems related to bone metabolism or parathyroid function, possible vitamin D deficiency ,or malabsorption. The test may be requested when an individual is known to be at risk of vitamin D deficiency or to monitor levels of those taking supplements.
PSA (Prostate)
This test is recommended for suspected prostate cancer, people with a family history of prostate cancer, and monitoring therapy for prostate cancer. A prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test should be used in conjunction with digital rectal examination as an aid in the detection of prostate cancer in men aged 50 years and older.
Detección de tiroides
Includes thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and free T4. TSH is used to screen for thyroid problems, while free T4 is used to determine how the thyroid is functioning. This test is also used to monitor people who are being treated for thyroid problems.
Testosterone Levels
Checking testosterone levels is crucial if someone experiences symptoms like fatigue, low energy, reduced muscle mass, or changes in mood and libido. This test helps determine if there’s an imbalance in testosterone, a hormone essential for overall health, affecting energy, mood, and reproductive functions.
Vitamin B12
This test helps identify if low B12 levels are a factor, allowing for appropriate supplementation or dietary adjustments to address the deficiency. Checking vitamin B12 levels is important for individuals experiencing symptoms like fatigue, weakness, or neurological issues, as a deficiency in this vitamin can contribute to such issues.
Pruebas de función hepática
Measures the overall function of the liver. Commonly used tests to check liver function are the alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), albumin, and bilirubin tests.
Prothrombin Time/International Normalized Ratio (PT/INR)
This test measures how well blood clots. The PT measures the time it takes for blood to clot, and the INR standardizes this measurement, ensuring consistency across different labs. This test is crucial for managing conditions that require careful control of blood clotting, such as atrial fibrillation or deep vein thrombosis.
Hemoglobina A1c
Therapy for diabetes requires the long-term maintenance of a blood glucose level as close as possible to a normal level. An accurate index of the mean blood glucose concentration may be established by the measurement of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) every two to three months.
Your lab results will be available to you within 36 hours. If you have an account on our patient portal, your results will be available online. We can also have results faxed or mailed to your physician, whether or not they are in the Hancock Health network.
