Gateway Staff\u2019s Favorite East Central Indiana Summer Activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>
\n\n<\/div>
\n

There are so many wonderful activities to choose from in East Central Indiana this summer. The list is long, but here are some favorites from our beloved Gateway Hancock Health staff members.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n\n<\/div>
\n

Outdoor Concerts<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>
\n\n<\/div>
\n

Debbie Wilkerson and Mia Carter, both Patient Health Advocates, and Jen Schewe, Lead Lab Tech, enjoy the summer outdoor music scene that\u2019s available in East Central Indiana. Mia says, \u201cThe summer activity I like the most is outdoor, live band concerts.\u201c Debbie\u2019s venue of choice? The Depot<\/a> in \u30b0\u30ea\u30fc\u30f3\u30d5\u30a3\u30fc\u30eb\u30c9<\/a>. Hancock County 4H Fair<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>
\n\n<\/div>
\n

Karen Hummel, MSN, RN, BC, Nurse Practitioner in Immediate Care loves the 4H Fair held at the Hancock County Fairgrounds<\/a>. Connie Cross, Patient Health Advocate agrees, saying, \u300c<\/strong>One of my favorite East Central Indiana summer activities is going to the local Hancock County Fair. We (me and my husband) enjoy going to see all the farm animals, walking through the 4-H building and (of course) indulging in all the good food (corn on the cob and lemon shake-ups are favorites).\u201d For this year\u2019s 4Hfair schedule, go here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Outdoor Activities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>
\n\n<\/div>
\n

Spending time outside in East Central Indiana\u2019s beautiful natural environment is also popular among our staff. A favorite activity of Karen Hummel is \u201ccamping and campfire cooking\u201d. Cheryl Heck, NP Gateway in Immediate Care, says she enjoys \u201cswimming, hiking, outdoor music, relaxing and hanging out with family and friends!\u201d Shantell Tharpe, LPN loves \u201ckayaking Brookville<\/a> \u307e\u305f\u306f Mounds<\/a>, drag racing Muncie<\/a> or horseback at Salt Creek Ranch<\/a>.\u201d Jen Schewe\u2019s favorite outdoor activity? \u201cRiding bikes with my family on the Pensey Trail<\/a> to get ice cream at either Libby’s<\/a> or DQ.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>

Fresh Produce<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>
\n\n<\/div>
\n

Karen Hummel makes sure to point out her love of \u201cfresh garden produce, wild black raspberries.\u201d If you\u2019ve got a green thumb then you\u2019re likely already enjoying time in the garden. But if you need a little boost with the growing part, check out \u30bf\u30c8\u30eb\u679c\u6a39\u5712<\/a> for a wonderful selection of delicious, locally grown produce to satiate you through these summer days. (Don\u2019t forget about their Strawberry Festival<\/a> in early June.)<\/p>\n<\/div>
