Hancock Pain Management – Gateway offers multiple treatments for pain related to arthritis, bursitis, and other chronic conditions of the legs and hips. These conditions are often treated using a steroid injection and other therapies. You and your provider will work closely to come up with the treatment option most suitable for you.
We regularly help patients find relief from:
Spinal stenosis
Spinal stenosis is a condition caused by compression of the nerves, most often in the neck or lower back. It can result from how the spine developed, by osteoarthritis, herniated discs, or various injuries. After examining your compression, our providers will determine the best treatment plan for you.
Spondylosis
Spondylosis results from wear and tear on the spine, causing pain and discomfort that typically worsens over time. This is common in older adults, as spines naturally lose elasticity over time. Treatment options include anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, lumbar supports and spinal injections. In severe cases, surgery may be needed.
Sciatica
Sciatica is an irritation or compression of nerve roots in the lower back. Sciatica may result from injury or other problems, like herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, or spinal stenosis. Treatment for sciatica typically includes a combination of physical therapy, medications, and therapeutic injections.
Sacroiliac Joint Pain
Individuals with arthritis may experience pain in the sacroiliac joint, where the hip and spine meet. This type of pain can be treated with steroid injections, which are minimally invasive and bathe the affected area in medication.
