A Hancock County Indiana Summer

A Hancock County Indiana Summer is always a blast, especially if you’re planning to spend time in and around Gateway Hancock Health! Read on to find out about the “hottest” events and places of the season!

Hancock County Indiana Summer Fun

The Kathy Dowling Aquatic Center pool and splash pad is one of the very best ways to cool off this summer. Whether your toddler wants to splash around or you are looking to get laps in, this is a great hot weather respite for the whole family.

Hancock County Public Library is a fantastic resource any time of year, but summer offers a little something extra.  Check out various programming for children and adults, including a summer reading program for your young readers(and emerging readers).

Take advantage of the City of Greenfield’s TWO summer concert series! Depot Street Park will be hosting its summer concert series on alternating Friday evenings. The fun kicks off June 9th, and — as always — the music is free and family friendly.

The Live @ the Rails concert series starts June 17th and goes through September. Again, this series is free and family friendly.

Bring a blanket and a picnic, and enjoy these fantastic summer nights. Find out more about both of these series by visiting the Greenfield-Community website.

Greenfield is home to lots of parks and they all have their own flavor. Not quite sure where to start? Be sure to check out the Greenfield Community Parks page to find out more about each park’s amenities and offerings. Remember — no one ever wished they spent less time outdoors.

The Farmer’s Market at the Hancock Fairgrounds is in full swing every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon. Come by and see how the produce evolves from week to week. You’ll also find meats, cheeses, and bakery items. It’s a delightful smorgasbord for the senses!

The Hancock County 4-H Fair is a perennial family favorite. From animals to games to treats, you won’t want to miss out on the 167th annual fair.  Happening June 23-30 this year, find out more info on the Hancock Fairgrounds website

And like all good things, summer will wind down and kids will be back to school before we know it. Come to Community Night at the Fairgrounds for free school supplies and lots of resources that are available to you, our wonderful community members. Stay tuned for more info about 2023’s Community Night on the Greenfield-Community Facebook page.

Wishing you and your family a safe and healthy 2023 summer!
